轉型正劇 宋小寶：不想一輩子只演小品

年代劇《老兵》不僅是趙本山影視布局中首次脫離喜劇轉型正劇，也給了小沈陽和宋小寶首次正面「交鋒」的機會。

北京青年報報導，跟小沈陽天然的「農村偶像劇」氣質不同，宋小寶雖然也是個80後，只能走「自黑」路線搞笑，黑老頭成了他的標誌形象，非科班出身的他總有種笨鳥先飛的緊迫感。他說，自己非常珍惜每一個表演機會，「我不想被人說宋小寶一輩子只會演小品。」在《老兵》中，他特意跟李立群求教「反派絕招」，最後為自己扮演的警察局長設計了一個十分貼切的形象——鼻孔看人，角色立刻活了。

據報導，宋小寶扮演的警察局長吳天寶是個不折不扣的腹黑派，與小沈陽扮演的角色狼狽為奸。兩個「活寶」演對手戲，最難的不是怎麼在演技上旗鼓相當你來我往，而是最原始的需求：不笑場。「那個笑啊，笑得不行不行的了，不僅我，包括小沈陽，我一正經起來的時候，他就接受不了，說寶兒，別這樣。尤其是眼神交流的時候，有場我倆用眼神唰唰唰殺死對方的戲，完了給我倆都整崩潰了，攝像老師們也都笑得不行了。」
